How to Broadcast on Facebook, Step by Step

From connecting your Page and choosing customers to sending messages with images and keeping each batch at a safe size. It works for any shop that sells through Page chat. New to broadcasting? Read What is a broadcast? first.

  1. 1

Sign up and install the Chrome extension

Sign up on the 15-day free trial page with no credit card required, then install the BroadTurbo extension for Google Chrome. The whole setup takes under 10 minutes.

  2. 2

    Connect your Facebook Page

Log in to Facebook in your browser and choose the Pages you want to broadcast from. BroadTurbo supports unlimited Pages, so every shop you run fits in one plan. If you want to reach customers who messaged more than 24 hours ago, grant every permission for each Page when you connect.

  3. 3

    Choose customers by label

Pick recipients by the labels you've applied in your Page inbox, such as past customers, customers waiting for a deal, or VIP customers. Label-based broadcasts let you combine several labels at once and exclude the ones you don't want.

  4. 4

Write your message and attach images

Write your message and attach product images in a single step. Tip: shrinking images below 75KB makes sending much faster.

  5. 5

Send a test first, then send for real

Test by choosing a label with only a few people, or apply a label to your own account and send to yourself. When everything looks right, send for real, ideally no more than 3,000 people per batch (2,000 with an image), then wait about 15 minutes before the next batch. Want to know how long each batch will take? Estimate your broadcast time from the number of recipients and the image size you'll actually send.

  6. 6

Check the report and improve the next round

Track successful deliveries in the real-time report. If failed messages suddenly climb, pause sending for about an hour, then use the results to refine the message, images and send time for your next round.

Broadcasting FAQ

Can't find your question? Contact our team on LINE Official. We're happy to help.

    • Can one Facebook account broadcast from several Pages, and how many Pages per account per day is safe?

You can keep broadcasting. For text-only broadcasts, split them into batches of about 3,000 Page followers per round, then take a 15-minute break.

    • How many people should I broadcast to at once?

Text only: 3,000 people per round works best. Text plus an image under 75KB: 2,000 people per round. If you have a very large audience, BroadTurbo can split it into batches automatically.

    • If my broadcast stops going through, how long should I wait before the next one?

Leave it for about 1 hour (and consider switching to a different Facebook account for the next broadcast).

    • How do I test a broadcast?

Pick a label with only a few customers, or test by sending to yourself: apply a label to your personal Facebook account and check the result. You can also watch the video on how to test a message: https://youtu.be/mHXnL1eJnMU

    • How do I know if I'm being rate-limited?

Your broadcasts stop going through and the number of failed messages rises.

    • Why does each broadcast take a different amount of time, sometimes 2 hours and sometimes 5?

With the same number of recipients, broadcast speed depends on two main factors: 1. Image file size: the smaller the file, the faster the system sends. 2. Facebook's own speed: every message goes through Facebook's system (API), so speed depends mostly on Facebook and varies throughout the day. At peak times Facebook may process more slowly or apply a rate limit to prevent spam, so the system has to pace sending to match Facebook's limits. This part is outside the system's control.
