Broadcast message examplesLive sale reminders

A live sale needs viewers from the very start, because that's usually when you open your best items and need comments to keep the live going. A live reminder differs from a regular promotion: the goal is to get customers into the live on time, not to order in chat right away. So it needs the start time, what you'll be selling and an easy link to join.

Who to send to

Send to customers who messaged you in the last 24 hours, picking those labeled “Live customer” from messaging to confirm orders in your last live. They're already used to buying through lives. If your last live was more than 24 hours ago, post a live announcement in advance with an invitation to message you to “get a reminder before the live”, then send to those who message.

When to send

Send the first round about 30–60 minutes before going live so customers can plan. Send the second round when you start, with the link. If you didn't schedule the live in advance, the link only exists after you hit Go Live. Send the leftover recap within a few hours after the live ends, while customers who messaged to confirm orders during the live are still inside the 24-hour window.

Live sale reminders: tips that get results

  • Comments under a live don't count as messaging your Page. Customers who comment CF but have never messaged your Page won't be in the group your broadcast can reach. Say it every live: “CF, then message us to confirm your order.”
  • If you go live every day at the same time, customers who messaged to confirm orders yesterday will be close to the 24-hour mark right when the new live starts. Send the reminder before that time runs out, not when the live starts.
  • If you schedule the live in advance on your Page, you get a live announcement post whose link you can use in the heads-up message, so customers can join the moment it starts.
  • Mention at least 1 item you'll open in the live, with its price. A message that only says “We're live tonight!” gives no reason to show up on time.
  • The after-live message must use stock after CF orders are deducted. If customers message to reserve items that already sold out in the live, both the customer and your admin end up frustrated.

Before you send

Promotional messages can only go to customers who messaged your Page in the last 24 hours. See the details in the 24-hour rule. Customers outside that window can only receive non-promotional updates through Facebook-approved templates

FAQ: Live sale reminders

A customer commented CF in my live. Can I send them a broadcast?
Live comments don't open the Messenger 24-hour window. The customer has to send a message to your Page's chat first before you can send them promotional messages. Saying “CF, then message us to confirm your order” in the live helps you close orders and also lets your after-live messages reach them.
I go live every day. Is a daily reminder too much?
If customers get an identical-looking message every day, they'll stop opening it. Only broadcast on days with a special reason, e.g. new stock, a featured item at a special price, or a changed live time. On regular days, use a scheduled live and a Page post instead. If a customer says they don't want reminders, stop sending to them.
Should I send the message when the live starts, or wait for more viewers?
Send when you start or a few minutes after, because the beginning is when the live needs viewers most. If you wait for a crowd, latecomers will miss the first item. If you'll open a featured item mid-live, include the time in the message so customers can join at the right moment.
